As mentioned in the basic concept, a integration is the connection between 2 applications. Within the integration we determine what applications talk to each other and here we configure some generic settings that are applicable to multiple flows, this to reduce the amount of configuration needed.
Integrations have a dependency on the applications you have connected towards Apicenter. For example you connected a ERP system, for the example business central, 2 webshops, 2 instances of woocommerce and a marketplace, bol.com.
You can connect the ERP towards the webshops, the erp towards the marketplace or you can build a different combination just as you please, that can mean that you can also connect a webshop towards another webshop if both sides of the flow are available.
Integration overview
On this tab you can see the flows that are active or disabled. You can remove flows and configure new flows. If the light is green, everything is running if the light is orange there is a issue or the flow is stopped manually.
Integration settings
The integration settings mainly set default values. We have multiple categories in this settings section. For example General integration settings like we need to provide a language tag to a system we can set this as a default value and defer from this on flow level.
Default values for creating customers, stock location, payment conditions are captured within the application behavior. This is used for having the correct settings when we have both a salesorder and customer flow where the behavior of creating customers is similar.
Most of the application support a currency. If no currency is provided and the target system expects a currency we have a default currency in the settings as a fallback solution.
On this level there is also fallback for the categories on products, it can occur that products do not have a category in there dataset. When you enable this setting you can set a default category name so the products always have a category when they are created. The second function in the section mentions force use of default category. When a product does receive a category from the source you can overwrite this with the default value you want to use.
Unit of measurements are in most cases not provided on order level, within this section you can provide a default unit of measurement.
Similar to the currencies we also provide a fallback scenario for tax rate’s. Whenever we do not receive the possibility to calculate the corresponding taxes this can be used to get the correct output.
